Overview & Scoring
What is Achtung.app?
Achtung.app tracks how visible your brands are inside AI-generated answers — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and others. It gives agencies the data they need to understand, improve, and report on that visibility over time.
Traditional SEO measures ranking positions in a list of links. Achtung.app measures whether an AI model cites, mentions, or recommends a brand when a user asks a relevant question — and scores that signal on a recurring schedule.
The AI Prominence
Each brand receives an AI Prominence from 0 to 100, recalculated on every measurement run. It reflects six weighted aspects of how the brand appears in AI responses:
| Component | Weight | What it captures |
|---|---|---|
| Mention Frequency | 20% | How often the brand is mentioned across tracked queries |
| Mention Breadth | 20% | How many different AI providers mention the brand |
| Recommendation Strength | 25% | How strongly the AI endorses or recommends the brand |
| Position Score | 15% | How early the brand sits among the sources an answer actually referenced, relative to how many there were (earlier = better) |
| Sentiment | 10% | Whether mentions are positive, neutral, or negative |
| Trend Momentum | 10% | Whether visibility is improving or declining recently |
A higher score means the brand is being cited often, by multiple AI tools, in a positive and prominent way.
How queries work — organic visibility
Achtung.app measures organic AI visibility: whether AI models mention or recommend a brand without being asked about it directly.
Each day, the system sends generic questions to multiple AI providers — questions a real potential customer would ask, like "What are the best karate schools in Berlin?" or "Which SaaS tools help with project management?". Each keyword is queried multiple times per provider per day and the answers are averaged, so the score reflects a stable trend rather than a single noisy response. The brand's name and website are never included in these queries. The AI either knows and recommends the brand on its own, or it doesn't.
This is a deliberate design choice. Including the brand name would prompt the AI to discuss it regardless of actual visibility — inflating scores and hiding real gaps. By keeping queries blind, the score reflects what a real customer would experience when asking an AI for advice in your niche.
What this means in practice:
- A low score doesn't mean the AI dislikes the brand — it means the AI doesn't surface it unprompted. That's the gap to close.
- A high score means the brand has genuine presence in AI training data and retrieval systems — it shows up when it matters.
- The Gap Analysis on each keyword explains why the brand wasn't mentioned and what competitors are doing differently.
Consistency score
Each keyword is queried multiple times per provider per day. The Consistency Score measures how reliably a brand is re-cited across those repeated runs, counting only keyword-days where the brand appeared at least once: 100% means it appeared in every run on those days, 50% means only half of them. Days without any mention are measured by visibility, not consistency. The value is shown per provider in the visibility chart tooltip once enough repeated-run data exists; with too little data a short note appears instead.
Why this number is higher than the published answer-stability study: the answer-stability insight measures how much the entire set of recommended brands overlaps when the same question is asked twice (shared brands ÷ all brands in either answer). The Consistency Score follows a single brand. The two scales are mathematically offset: a set overlap of J implies an average per-brand repeat rate of (J + 1) ÷ 2 — Gemini's published 41% set overlap, for example, corresponds to roughly a 70% per-brand repeat rate. A Consistency Score around 60–75% and a set overlap around 40–70% therefore describe the same instability at different zoom levels; the numbers are not directly comparable.
Benchmark percentile
Scores are benchmarked against other brands in the same niche — for example, Top 25% in Legal Services. This gives meaningful context beyond the raw number. (Shown in the brand portal on Pro and above.)
Subscription & cancellation
You can manage your subscription from the user menu (top right) → Manage Subscription, or from Team Settings → Plan & Features → Manage Billing. Both link to the Stripe Customer Portal where you can update your payment method, change your plan, or cancel.
Your paid invoices are available under Settings → Invoices in the sidebar. Each invoice links to the official Stripe PDF for download.
Lite, Starter and Pro can be billed monthly or yearly. Paying yearly gives you one month free (Lite €759/yr instead of €69/mo, Starter €1,859/yr instead of €169/mo, Pro €10,989/yr instead of €999/mo) — the yearly price is exactly eleven monthly payments. Pick your billing interval with the toggle on the plan-selection page when you subscribe.
How often you are measured
Lite measures your visibility once a week and queries each keyword three times per AI platform on that day. Your measurement day is the weekday your plan started, so it stays the same week to week. Starter and above measure every day, twice per keyword per platform. Everything else — news alerts, competitor tracking, content suggestions, your Search Console data — runs daily on every plan.
A weekly plan gives you about four data points a month, so your trend line is coarser. Each individual measurement is not weaker: the third run makes the daily figure steadier than it would be at two.
Signing up mid-week does not mean waiting: your first scan starts as soon as you add a brand, whatever day that is. The weekly rhythm begins after that.
If you cancel your subscription:
- Your account remains accessible but is downgraded to the Lite tier.
- Your brand data (brands, keywords, scores, citations, reports) is retained for 7 days after cancellation, and stays fully accessible and exportable throughout.
- No new AI collection runs during those 7 days, so nothing changes under you while you decide.
- After 7 days, brand data is permanently deleted.
- If you re-subscribe within the 7-day window, all data is preserved.
- Your account and team are never deleted — you can always come back.
A warning banner appears on every page during the retention period, showing the exact date your data will be removed and linking straight to reactivation.
Your dashboard
The dashboard gives you an overview across all your brands. Use the Brand dropdown at the top to focus on a single brand — or leave it empty to see totals and averages across your full portfolio.
If you have no brands yet, an onboarding widget appears with a quick-start guide and a link to create your first brand.
